Sports Nutrition

Sports Nutrition Programme

Optimum nutrition is essential for anyone participating in sport who wants to fulfil their maximum potential. I support both amateur and elite athletes across a wide range of disciplines. I was the official Nutritionist to the Premier League Clubs Watford FC and Fulham FC for five years. I have also lectured in sports nutrition at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition in London.

Every athlete has individual nutritional requirements depending on their discipline, level, age, health status, and training programme. My aim is to develop a programme that will take into account your goals, dietary preferences, training schedule, time constraints, and lifestyle. I offer sports nutrition consultations online and at my clinics in the London, and Hertfordshire.

What to Expect from Your Consultation

The sports nutrition consultation process is typically divided into three stages.

Stage 1: Before your Consultation

After booking your consultation you will be sent a questionnaire which will require you to complete your medical and history, training and record a three-day food diary. The completed questionnaire needs to be returned to me at least three days before your consultation. This enables me to build a picture of your health history and consider how I can help you achieve your goals. It also ensures you get more value from our consultation time as much of the analysis is carried out in advance.

Stage 2: First Consultation

The first consultation lasts for fifty minutes. We will discuss your goals, health concerns, and agree a personalised programme that fits in with your lifestyle, budget and dietary preferences. Your full programme will be emailed to you within two working days of our consultation.

The programme will include the following:

  • An analysis of your food diary.
  • A personalised sports nutrition programme.
  • A supplement programme (if necessary).

Stage 3: Follow-up Consultations

I usually recommend you attend a follow-up consultation between four and six weeks after your first consultation. The aim of this consultation is to review progress to date, and to adapt the programme as required. Follow-up consultations usually last between thirty and forty-five minutes. Further consultations may be required depending on your progress. Most clients require two to three consultations over a three-month period.
